Welcome to the beginning of your journey with Willow Tree Montessori. The following steps will guide you through the admissions process and outline what you can expect during your journey.
Submit a prospective family information form online
The first step in our admissions process invites interested parents to fill out a Prospective Family Information Form, which can be found at the bottom of this page. Once submitted, we will contact you to schedule an informational meeting and on-site tour of our campus.
Arrange a school tour and observation
We ask parents to visit the school for a Parent Tour, and participate in an informational meeting with a Primary or Young Children’s Community Guide. This initial tour is for adults only, and children will be invited to visit our facilities later during the admissions process. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children during this visit, and if a child is brought during this time, we will be unable to conduct the Parent Tour. Upon this visit you will receive an application package (also available for download above).
Send in your application package
When the decision to apply is made, complete the Application Form provided in your application package. If you would like to speed up the application process, you are welcome to download the appropriate forms above and submit them during your initial tour of the school. Return the application paperwork with a $100 Family Fee. This Family Fee is for all siblings applying to WTM and is nonrefundable. Carefully review the material and ensure completion of each category to avoid any possibility of admission delay.
Return the Enrollment contract
If a position is offered to your family, we ask that you fill out and send us a provided Enrollment Contract, along with a non-refundable tuition deposit of 10%. Upon receipt of a non-refundable tuition deposit and Enrollment Contract, we will hold a place for your child in our program.
Receive decision regarding placement
Once the previous steps have been completed, a timely decision will be made regarding your child’s placement at WTM. Admission decisions are based on three factors: (1) The family’s ability to support Montessori pedagogy and the WTM community, (2) the needs of the existing class with regard to age and sex to balance the overall community, and (3) the Parent Interview during an initial tour of the school campus and meetings with the teaching staff. If it is our judgement that your child would have a difficult time in a Montessori environment, we will inform you immediately after the interview.
Child visit
Once the Enrollment Form has been submitted, your child will be invited to Willow Tree Montessori to shadow a peer within the classroom. It is an opportunity to experience the specially prepared environment and allows the Guide to see your child respond and move within it. This is an important interaction that will enable a bond to begin forming between your child and his/her teacher.
